Using an Android phone and a Linux laptop is… a bit rough when you want new AI features to play around with quickly. All the fun things seem to launch on macOS first, in beta! We do get the newest CLI features first, usually, but GUI features — nope.

Claude Desktop was one such case, and it was particularly annoying because… the Windows version used WSL! Windows Subsystem for Linux! Are you teasing us…?

Then it was launched in beta… for Debian users. Thanks to the magic of the AUR, I do have it on my system. Unfortunately for me, however, recently I don’t have much time to sit in front of my laptop properly, and I use SSH via Termux more often. So the most often used surface for Claude was decisively Claude Code. A bit clunky over Termux + SSH + tmux, but workable and very capable.

Cowork, however, was something I didn’t really get to use — even if it was “Claude Code for the rest of the people”, so technically I could just use Claude Code in Auto mode and get most of the features. The things holding me back most were the 5 per day scheduled actions limit for the cloud (I’m not anywhere near close to hitting it, but still!) (Cited by Claude Opus 5), and it being dependent on a GitHub repository — again for Cloud, which is the least friction path from a phone — which gets awkward fast if you aren’t dealing with text and code only. (Also, Claude gets really careful about pushing things to “production”; it tries to use branches and PRs… too much overhead for simple tasks!)

But Cowork for Web is apparently available to me now! So I’m going to give it a few tasks Hermes handles with Scheduled Tasks at the moment, and… blog about it. Soon™.
