Claude Code has a very useful option to launch a Claude Code on Web session from portable (web, app) surfaces. This launches Claude Code on an Anthropic-managed container, allowing it to work on GitHub repositories without any of my devices active. Codex’s answer seems to be Codex Cloud, but it’s… complicated.

Apparently “Codex Cloud” is an actual product that you can use. However it’s not entirely obvious where I can find it. ChatGPT itself seems to have found the answer - a dedicated web app, but opening it throws me straight into the Remote section on my phone - which needs my laptop to be active and paired. Or so I thought - there’s a way to start it… apparently. I’m still wrapping my head around trying to create an environment from mobile, and the “versions” concept - essentially “throw N (N is a natural number between 1 and 4) agents at it and pick the best solution” - seems very interesting, but I’m not sure if I have a task for it that deserves that much effort. I’ll report back when I manage to kick off a successful cloud session! (Unfortunately no Webhooks though, unless I just didn’t find it yet)

Also, I found that Codex finds push to master branch either very uncomfortable or sometimes impossible, as it seems to open a PR almost every time - which does make sense from a safety standpoint, but makes my life just a bit harder for smaller private repos where there’s one reviewer (me) so PRs mostly feel like safety theater.

On the bright side, Luna is ludicrously cheap - also shown in the research that I found, and usually competent. Mostly. More than Haiku which has… for a lack of a better expression - been crying in the corner, forgotten. The other tiers also seem pretty generous too, as long as things don’t get overly long. In terms of Claude Code, well… Maybe a Haiku 5 will come somewhat soon…
